Is having a "fu-bu" something common?

I'm not so sure how many of you do not know what "fu-bu" is, but I guess it's better for me to just explain it here, just in case...*it's definitely not the brand 'FUBU'*

"fu-bu" is actually made up by 2 words : "fuck" + "buddy" = fu-bu

I started to hear people using this "word" more & more common these days, so I'm just wondering what the world has turned into...coz this is something that I definitely cannot accept!

What's the difference between fu-bu and one-night-stand (ONS)? The difference is :
  • ONS is usually when u dont know the person u f***, and u dont really leave contact to know each other better or keep the relationship going.

  • fu-bu is when u actually know this person, but not bothering if the person is married or engaged or whatever, and f*** each other when there's a need.
Hubby & I have a friend "C" who's married with 2 kids and wife currently pregnant with 3rd baby. No doubt he's a very very attractive man, especially when he starts speaking, but this doesnt mean he can have fu-bu! Apparently he has not only one fu-bu, but a few! GOSH...And more surprisingly to find out is, some are actually married women! I cant believe it!

Recently we also heard of another person "Y" who broke up a fu-bu relationship with a married man...She said she has been fu-bu-ing with this person for years without her real boyfriend knowing it and she really enjoyed it! Oh my God...I almost fainted!

Am I leaving in the cage not seeing the world or what? Have u also got a "fu-bu"? Have u have friends who are "fu-bu" of another person? Is this something really common now?

I've never heard the word "fu-bu" before, but I've heard about people doing this kind of thing. I agree with you, it's just stupid and wrong, and it can't be accepted. No civilized person that loves their husband/wife/bf/gf would ever do something like that. The correct word for people, both male and female, who do this kind of thing is sl-ut.

i also hv never heard of FUBU before. i think for asians, it's not normal for us coz we're quite conservative. but in western countries, i hear it's quite normal.

IMHO, it's totally wrong. =_= betraying your spouse is a big offence u know!

oh the term is fu-bu eh? never heard of the term, i thought people just refer it as fuck-buddy as it is. people choose to have fu-bu maybe because it's cheaper and easier to disguise? so far, none of my friends ever relate their fu-bu stories to me.. never heard of it before, until once a girl asked me what i think of fubu, because she's kinda in that kind of relationship and confused. weird world nowadays..

Wah... I learn a new word...
I don't have fu-bu, but I know my friend has one~ Anyway, he is single, so it doesn't matter, I think.

bongkersz - pple use fu-bu so it's not so obvious that they are talking about their fuck-buddy mar! haha...

sean - dont learn from your friend, single or married, fu-bu is not right lar...But if u'r seriously in a relationship & made love with this person, then some time later break up, then i think no choice lar...

Right or wrong it is a matter of perception of the FU-BU partners. I have heard of FU-BU and I know few too. It is something that I believe emotionally & mentally driven ...they know it and they want it for some reason that they have. Thinking out of the box not being too emotional ...it also can safe relationship and marriage. Emotions plays a greater role ....for many who are not happy/not enough with the sexual relationship they get a fu-bu who has the mutual need.

As you said FU-BU has no ties...this keeps the family happy and intact. Sex is just between bodies ....look beyond it

this is intresting to read :

seal in astral - somehow i cant convince myself to agree with u...especially when we'r married, our body does not only belong to ourselves, it belongs to our partner too! so how can we say sex is just between bodies?

I bet we need to be more responsible for our relationship with our other half, that's my 2 cents worth...

Read ur post too on flirting. I do agree with u on that part as I flirt too while my hubby is present or sometimes when he's not. He trusts me...But again, this is very different from having a FU-BU! Like u rightly mentioned in ur post, there shud be a common understanding between the 2 about flirting. My hubby & I both agreed on certain flirting level in chatting, joking, drinking, dancing, etc, BUT no serious physical touch & beyond...
